1. What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device. They let the site recognise your browser, for example to keep you logged in. Local storage is a similar technology that lets a website save small pieces of information in your browser. Unlike cookies, local storage is not sent to the website with every request.
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used by Orbis Digital Ltd on the Orbis SMS website (orbissms.co.uk) and customer portal (app.orbissms.co.uk). Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data more generally.
2. The law and your consent
Regulation 6 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) says we must ask for your consent before storing or accessing information on your device, unless it is strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for. The Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 added some exemptions for certain low-risk analytics and functional cookies. Even so, we still ask for your consent before using any analytics cookies.
Strictly necessary cookies and storage do not need consent and cannot be switched off through our cookie banner, because the website or portal would not work properly without them.
We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

Google Analytics is not currently enabled. If we enable it, it will only load after you click "Accept" on the cookie banner. If you click "Decline" or make no choice, it will not load.

4. Google Fonts
The website and portal load fonts from Google Fonts, provided by Google LLC. Google Fonts does not set cookies. However, when your browser loads the fonts, Google receives your IP address, because your browser has to connect to Google's servers. 5. Stripe Checkout
When you buy credits, you are taken to a checkout page hosted by Stripe on Stripe's own domain. Stripe sets its own cookies on that page, mainly to prevent fraud. These cookies are not set on our website or portal and are governed by Stripe's own cookie and privacy policies, not this one.
6. How to change your choice
You can change your cookie choice at any time by clicking Cookie settings. The same link appears in the footer of every page. If you withdraw consent, analytics cookies will not be used from then on.
You can also control cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Most browsers let you:
- see which cookies and site data are stored, and delete them;
- block cookies from particular sites or from all sites;
- block third-party cookies;
- clear all cookies and site data when you close the browser.
If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the website may not work and you will not be able to log in to the portal. Clearing local storage will remove your saved cookie choice, so the banner will appear again.
7. Changes and contact
We may update this policy if we change the cookies or similar technologies we use, or if the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
