SMS marketing campaigns
Promote offers, events and new stock to customers who have chosen to hear from you.
Read moreWhen someone asks to stop receiving your marketing texts, Orbis SMS records it and suppresses that number from future marketing sends.
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, every marketing text must give the recipient a simple, free way to refuse further messages. Ignoring an opt-out is one of the quickest ways to attract complaints and regulatory attention from the Information Commissioner's Office. It also damages trust. People who feel in control of what they receive are far more likely to stay subscribed and to engage when you do message them.
Numbers that opt out are held on a suppression list in your account. When you send a marketing campaign, suppressed numbers are excluded automatically, even if they are still in one of your groups or appear again in a new CSV import. That safeguard protects you from the common mistake of re-uploading an old spreadsheet and messaging people who already said no. You can view your opt-out list in the portal.
Add a short opt-out line such as Reply STOP to opt out to every marketing message. Make your sign-up wording clear about what people will receive and how often. Keep records of when and how consent was given. Service messages, such as appointment confirmations, are not marketing, but avoid slipping promotions into them; mixing the two can turn a service message into a marketing one.
