How credits work

Each standard SMS of up to 160 characters uses one credit per recipient. Longer messages are split into parts and use one credit per part. Messages containing certain special characters or emoji use a different encoding with a shorter limit per part. The portal shows how many parts and credits a message will use before you send, so you can trim wording if needed and keep spending predictable.
